If you’re thinking about getting your first RV, chances are you’ve got a million questions—and you’re not alone. I’ve worked with hundreds of families just like yours, and over time, I’ve noticed the same questions come up again and again.

Here are the top 10 questions families ask me before buying their first RV — and the honest answers that help them feel confident about their decision.

    1. What type of RV is best for a family?

That depends on your lifestyle, how many people you’re bringing, and what kind of travel you plan to do. Most families lean toward travel trailers with bunkhouses, or Class C motorhomes with overhead sleeping space. You want sleeping and storage space without overcomplicating things.

My job is to help you balance space, weight, and ease of use.

    2. Do I need a special license to drive an RV?

In most states — including North Carolina — no special license is required for anything under 26,000 lbs. That covers most travel trailers, fifth wheels, and even some big Class A rigs. But it’s always smart to double-check with your local DMV.

    3. What kind of vehicle do I need to tow it?

This one’s huge. If you’re looking at travel trailers or fifth wheels, your tow vehicle matters a lot. You need to consider:

    • Towing capacity (check your truck’s manual)
    • Tongue weight
    • Hitch type
    • Payload and suspension

I’ll help you find an RV that works with the truck you have — or show you what you’d need if you plan to upgrade.

    4. How much does RV maintenance cost?

It’s not as scary as people think. Basic upkeep like tire checks, sealant touch-ups, and systems testing is very manageable — especially if you do some of it yourself. Most families spend a few hundred bucks a year if nothing major goes wrong.

I’ll even walk you through a beginner maintenance checklist when you buy.

    5. Where do you even camp with an RV?

The real question is: Where can’t you? Families love:

    • State parks
    • KOAs
    • National parks
    • Private campgrounds
    • Boondocking on public land (if you’re more adventurous)

There are apps and memberships (like Harvest Hosts and Passport America) that help you find great, affordable spots.

    6. How hard is it to drive or tow an RV?

If you can drive a pickup or SUV, you can learn to tow or drive an RV — it just takes practice. I always tell people: go slow, plan wide turns, and practice in an open lot before your first trip. After a weekend or two, you’ll be way more confident.

    7. How do the hookups work (water, sewer, power)?

It seems intimidating at first, but it’s actually pretty simple once you learn:

    • Water hose connects like a garden hose
    • Sewer hose connects to a dump station
    • Power cord plugs into the campground pedestal (30 or 50 amp)

I’ll walk you through it all during your delivery day — no guesswork.

    8. What’s the best time of year to buy an RV?

Honestly? Right now. When the market’s soft or during off-peak months (like early spring or late fall), dealers get aggressive on pricing. Waiting for “the season” can mean higher prices and limited inventory.

We’ve got some amazing deals right now I’d love to show you.

    9. How much should I budget monthly?

That depends on your down payment, credit, and the RV you choose. I’ve helped families get into great campers with payments under $200/month. If you want something newer or more spacious, you could be looking at $300–$500/month.

I’ll help you find something that fits your lifestyle and your budget.

    10. What if I buy the wrong RV? Can I trade it in later?

Yes — and a lot of families do just that after a year or two once they know what they really want. RVs hold their value well if maintained properly, and I can help you trade up or down if your needs change.

    Thinking About Taking the Leap?

If these are the questions on your mind, you’re exactly the kind of person I love helping. No pressure. No gimmicks. Just good advice from someone who knows how big this decision is for your family.

  • Spring Maintenance Checklist to Get Your RV Trip-Ready

Spring Maintenance Checklist to Get Your RV Trip-Ready

By Jimmy Gerhold | RV Specialist at Riverside Camping Center

Spring is here — which means it’s almost go time for RV season. But before you hitch up and roll out, a little spring maintenance can save you a lot of headaches on the road.

I put together this no-BS checklist to help you get your camper, travel trailer, or motorhome road-ready, safe, and fully functional — so you can focus on making memories, not emergency repairs.

    🔋 1. Check Your Batteries

Winter storage can be tough on batteries. Start here:

    • Reconnect terminals if you disconnected them
    • Clean off any corrosion with a mix of baking soda and water
    • Top off fluid levels if using lead-acid batteries
    • Fully charge and test voltage before hitting the road

Pro tip: If it’s been over 3 years, it might be time to replace.

🛠️ 2. Inspect Seals and Roof for Leaks

Leaks can destroy an RV. Catch ’em early:

    • Check the roof seams, vents, and skylights for cracks or lifting sealant
    • Inspect windows, doors, and slide-outs for bad seals or gaps
    • Reseal any areas with RV-safe sealant

If you’re not comfortable climbing on the roof, give me a shout — I’ll point you to someone I trust locally.

🚿 3. Flush and Sanitize the Water System

You don’t want last year’s water in your tank.

    • Reconnect any lines you winterized
    • Fill freshwater tank with 1/4 cup bleach per 15 gallons of water
    • Run through all faucets, shower, and toilet
    • Let it sit for 12 hours, then flush the system with fresh water until bleach smell is gone

🔌 4. Test All Electrical Systems

Plug into shore power or run your generator and test everything:

    • Interior and exterior lights
    • Outlets and USB ports
    • A/C and furnace
    • Fridge, microwave, and water heater
    • Slide-outs and leveling jacks (if equipped)

Check your fuses and breakers too. Better to find out now than in the middle of a campground.

    🛞 5. Inspect Tires

This one’s critical — and often overlooked.

    • Check tread depth and sidewalls for dry rot or cracking
    • Confirm the DOT date (tires 5+ years old? Replace ’em)
    • Inflate to the proper PSI (when cold)

Don’t forget to check the spare tire too.

    💨 6. Check Propane System

You’ll need propane for cooking, heating, and hot water.

    • Inspect tanks for rust or dents
    • Open valves and use a soapy water spray to check for leaks (look for bubbles)
    • Test stove burners, water heater, and furnace

Smell gas? Shut it off and get it checked immediately.

    🧽 7. Give It a Good Cleaning

Inside and out. You’re about to live in it — treat it like your home:

    • Wash the exterior to remove winter grime
    • Clean the roof, awnings, and slides
    • Vacuum, wipe down surfaces, and disinfect the kitchen & bathroom
    • Air it out — open all the windows and let the spring air roll in

🧾 Bonus: Double Check Your Paperwork

    Before you hit the highway:

    • Make sure your insurance and registration are current
    • Keep your roadside assistance info handy
    • Pack your manuals, service records, and warranty docs

How to Inspect a Used RV Before You Buy (Checklist Inside)

Buying a used RV can save you a ton of money — but only if you know what to look for. The last thing you want is to hit the road and discover that your “deal” came with hidden problems that cost thousands to fix.

Here’s a no-nonsense guide to inspecting a used RV like a pro — with a checklist you can use whether you’re buying from a dealer, a private seller, or just browsing the lot.

🧰 Start with the Big Stuff

Before you fall in love with the floorplan or the interior colors, take a look at the essentials. If these aren’t solid, nothing else matters.

    ✅ Exterior Walkaround:

    • Roof condition: Look for soft spots, bubbles, or cracked sealant
    • Sidewalls: Check for delamination (waves or bubbles in fiberglass)
    • Tires: Look at tread depth, sidewall cracks, and the DOT date (older than 5 years? Budget for replacements)
    • Awnings: Extend them fully and inspect for tears, mold, or mechanical issues
    • Windows & doors: Open, close, and check seals for cracks or leaks

    ✅ Check for Water Damage:

Water is the enemy of RVs. Look everywhere for signs of it.

    • Inside cabinets, especially in corners
    • Under the sinks and around windows
    • Around slide-outs
    • Ceiling and wall discoloration or soft spots

Pro tip: Bring a flashlight and press gently on suspect areas. If it feels soft, spongy, or smells musty, be cautious.

    🔌 Test All the Systems

A great-looking RV is worthless if nothing works. Take the time to test everything.

    ✅ Electrical & Appliances:

    • Plug it in and check outlets, lights, and switches
    • Test the A/C and furnace (they should kick on quickly and blow hot/cold)
    • Run the fridge, microwave, stove, oven, and water heater
    • Try the slide-outs — do they move smoothly?
    • Look at the fuse panel for signs of burning or excessive wear

    ✅ Plumbing:

    • Turn on every faucet and flush the toilet
    • Check for leaks under the sinks and around the toilet
    • Fill the freshwater tank and run the water pump
    • Drain the gray and black tanks to make sure the valves work

    ✅ Generator (if equipped):

    • Start it cold. It should fire up without struggle
    • Plug something in and check for output
    • Check oil level and service records

    🚐 Test Drive It

If it’s a motorhome, drive it. If it’s a travel trailer or fifth wheel, ask to tow it or at least hook it up to your tow vehicle to test the brakes and lights.

    Look for:

    • Smooth steering and braking
    • Transmission shifts properly
    • No weird smells, clunks, or warning lights
    • Stability when towing (no swaying)

📋 Bonus: Ask the Right Questions

    • Do you have maintenance records?
    • Has it ever been winterized or stored indoors?
    • Any accidents, roof damage, or major repairs?
    • Are there any known issues right now?

RV Travel on a Budget: Tips That Save You Thousands

By Jimmy Gerhold | RV Specialist at Riverside Camping Center

Let’s be real — RV travel can be one of the most affordable and rewarding ways to explore the world with your family… if you know where to save and how to do it smart.

I’ve helped hundreds of families get into RVs they can afford, and more importantly — actually use. Here’s how to keep more money in your pocket while still creating million-dollar memories.

    💸 1. Buy Smart — Not Fancy

Sure, the newest luxury rig might have all the bells and whistles, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best fit for your goals. Often, you can get a lightly used RV or even a brand-new unit with practical features (not just flashy ones) for a fraction of the price.

Pro tip: Go for floorplan and function over flash. I can walk you through options that fit your lifestyle and your budget.

🏕️ 2. Camp Cheap (Or Free)

Skip the overpriced resorts. There are thousands of budget-friendly — and even free — places to camp:

    • State parks and national forest campgrounds
    • Boondocking (dry camping on public land — especially out west)
    • Harvest Hosts – overnight stays at wineries, farms, and small businesses
    • Thousand Trails, Passport America – membership discounts that pay for themselves

I can point you toward some of my favorite spots that families love.

🍳 3. Cook Your Own Meals

This one adds up fast. Even if you’re just feeding a family of four, eating out on the road can run you hundreds a week. RV kitchens are designed to make cooking easy — and honestly, there’s nothing better than grilling out under the awning while the kids play nearby.

Stock up at grocery stores, use a slow cooker, and bring your favorite seasonings from home. It’s all part of the adventure.

⛽ 4. Plan Efficient Routes to Save on Gas

Fuel is one of your biggest expenses. Use apps like GasBuddy to find cheap fuel along your route, and plan stops with minimal backtracking. Bonus tip: keep your RV weight down — empty your tanks before long drives and ditch anything you don’t need.

Also, don’t speed. Slower = safer and more fuel-efficient.

🔧 5. Do the Simple Maintenance Yourself

Changing water filters, flushing tanks, even resealing windows — lots of RV upkeep can be done with basic tools and a quick YouTube video. Doing it yourself could save you hundreds (or more) in shop fees.

I’ll even show you a few simple maintenance tricks when you pick up your RV.

🎟️ 6. Look for Free or Low-Cost Attractions

Your RV gives you access to incredible experiences that don’t cost much — national parks, museums with free admission, hiking trails, swimming holes, fishing spots, and small-town festivals.

Let the adventure come from the destination, not the cost.

    🎯 The Bottom Line:

RV travel doesn’t have to break the bank — and it shouldn’t. With the right setup, a little planning, and some good advice, you can take your family on unforgettable journeys for way less than you’d spend on a typical vacation.

If you’re looking for a rig that makes financial sense and fits your goals, I’d love to help.

If you’ve been following my story or shopping for an RV with me, you might be wondering — why RVs? Why not stick with just cars, or go do something totally different?

Well, I’ll tell you exactly why I got into the RV business — and more importantly, what that means for you when you work with me.

It’s About Family, First and Always

Everything I do — every sale, every long day, every deal I fight to get right — is for my family. I’m a husband, a dad to four amazing kids, and a granddad. And for us, some of our best memories have come from time spent together unplugged, on the move, and making the most of life. That’s what RV travel is all about.

When I saw how RVs bring families together — how they give you the freedom to go where you want, connect without distractions, and make lifelong memories — I knew I was in the right business.

I’ve Sold a Lot of Vehicles… But RVs Hit Different

I came from the automotive world, and I’ve helped thousands of people find the right car or truck. But RVs? They’re different. When someone buys an RV, it’s not just transportation — it’s transformation. You’re buying freedom. You’re investing in experiences. You’re choosing to live more and stress less.

That lights me up. I love helping people step into that lifestyle, especially families who want to travel, connect, and create something unforgettable together.

I Work for You, Not the Dealership

Yeah, my office is inside Riverside Camping Center — but make no mistake, I work for you. I’m not here to pressure you into something you don’t need or push you toward whatever unit is gathering dust on the lot.

I’m here to listen, to learn what’s important to you, and to make sure you walk away with something that truly fits your needs, your goals, and your lifestyle.

    What This Means for You

When you work with me, you’re not just buying an RV — you’re getting a guide, a supporter, and someone who will have your back before, during, and long after the sale.

✅ I’ll shoot you straight — no games, no gimmicks
✅ I’ll help you find the right RV, not the most expensive one
✅ I’ll treat your family like my own, because I know how much this lifestyle means

  • ⚡ The RV Newbie’s Guide to Power, Water, and Propane

⚡ The RV Newbie’s Guide to Power, Water, and Propane

“If You Can Plug in a Toaster, You Can Run an RV—Here’s How”

    Written by Jimmy Gerhold

Let me guess—you’re thinking about getting an RV, but when it comes to all the hookups, switches, hoses, tanks, and mystery buttons… it’s a little intimidating?

    Totally normal.

Most first-time RV buyers are excited about the lifestyle, the road trips, the family memories—but then they start asking questions like:

    “How do I power everything?”
“What do I do with the water tank?”
“Will I blow up the propane system if I touch the wrong thing?”

Here’s the good news: It’s not as complicated as it looks.
If you can plug in a toaster, screw on a hose, and turn a knob—you’ve got this.

Let’s break it down real simple:

🔌 1. Understanding RV Power: Shore Power, Batteries & Generators

RV power comes in three main forms:

✅ Shore Power (Plugging In at a Campground)

This is like plugging your RV into a giant outdoor outlet. You’ll usually have a 30-amp or 50-amp plug depending on your RV.
Once connected, everything runs like home: outlets, AC, microwave, etc.

➡️ Pro Tip: Always use a surge protector to protect your RV from campground power spikes. It’s a $100 investment that can save thousands.

✅ Battery Power (For Basic Needs)

Your RV has at least one 12V battery. This runs your lights, water pump, and maybe your fridge—but not your AC or microwave.
The battery charges when you’re plugged into shore power, or if you have solar or a generator.

➡️ Pro Tip: If you’re boondocking (camping off-grid), keep an eye on your battery levels so you don’t drain them completely.

    ✅ Generator (Optional, but Powerful)

Some RVs have built-in generators. Others use portable ones. These let you power big appliances like the AC when you’re off-grid.

➡️ Just like with a lawn mower, they need fuel and basic maintenance.

💧 2. RV Water Systems: Fresh, Gray, and Black Tanks

RV water is simple when you think of it in three parts:

✅ Fresh Water (Clean Drinking Water)

    • You’ll either fill your fresh tank with a hose or hook directly to campground water.
    • Use a white drinking-safe hose and always run water through a filter if possible.

✅ Gray Water (Used Sink/Shower Water)

    • This goes into the gray tank and gets emptied at a dump station. Not gross, just soapy water.
    • You’ll know it’s full when your sink or shower starts draining slower.

    ✅ Black Water (Toilet Waste)

    • This is the one everyone asks about. It’s not as bad as you think.
    • You empty the black tank at the dump station using a sewer hose.
    • Use RV-specific toilet paper and tank treatments to keep smells and clogs away.

➡️ Pro Tip: Always dump black first, then gray—so the cleaner water helps rinse your hose.

🔥 3. Propane: Cooking, Heating, and More

    Propane in your RV powers:

    • Your stove/oven
    • Your furnace
    • Sometimes your fridge (when off-grid)
    • Your water heater (depending on the model)

Your tanks will either be refillable (motorhomes) or swappable (travel trailers with 20 lb bottles).

➡️ Safety First: RVs come with propane leak detectors. Make sure they’re working. If you ever smell strong propane, shut everything off and air it out.

➡️ Pro Tip: Turn off propane while traveling (especially in tunnels or on ferries), and always know where your shutoff valve is.

    👨‍🔧 Final Thoughts from Jimmy:

Here’s the bottom line—you don’t have to be an electrician or plumber to own an RV. You just need someone to show you how it all works once.

That’s exactly what I do for my customers at Riverside Camping Center. I don’t just sell you an RV—I make sure you know how to use it confidently. I’ll walk you through every system until it clicks.

  • Why RV Travel Beats Hotel Stays for Family Vacations

Why RV Travel Beats Hotel Stays for Family Vacations

By Jimmy Gerhold | RV Specialist at Riverside Camping Center
📞 Call or text me anytime at 252-404-9207

If you’ve ever tried loading up the family for a hotel vacation, you already know the struggle: overpacked bags, overpriced meals, cramped hotel rooms, and the endless stress of keeping your kids entertained in unfamiliar places. That’s exactly why so many families are ditching the old way of vacationing and hitting the road in an RV instead.

Here’s why RV travel wins — every time.

    1. It’s Your Home on Wheels

With an RV, you bring your home with you. That means your own beds, your own kitchen, your own bathroom — everything your family is already comfortable with. No more cramming everyone into one hotel room or dragging the little ones down a hallway in the middle of the night for a bathroom break.

    2. You Save a Ton of Money

Think about it: hotel rooms, restaurant meals, rental cars — it adds up fast. With an RV, you skip most of those expenses. You cook your own food, sleep in your own space, and many campgrounds cost way less than even a budget hotel. That savings can go toward more adventures or experiences for your family.

    3. You Can Go Where Hotels Can’t

RV travel lets you stay in the moment — beachside, lakeside, in the mountains, or right at a national park entrance. Hotels are often far from the action. But in an RV, you’re parked where the fun is happening. Wake up with a view and let the kids run free without waiting on an elevator.

    4. It’s Way Less Stressful With Kids

When the kids need snacks, naps, or entertainment, it’s all right there in the RV. You don’t have to pack up and leave the hotel just to eat or keep them happy. And when you’re traveling with younger kids or pets, having your own space and setup makes all the difference.

    5. Family Bonding Hits Different in an RV

There’s just something about being on the road together — playing games around the dinette, sharing stories by the campfire, exploring new places every day. RV life pulls you closer as a family. It’s not about rushing to your next hotel, it’s about slowing down and being present.

Bonus: Your Trip Starts the Moment You Pull Out of the Driveway

No airport lines. No lost luggage. No check-in windows. Just you, your family, and the open road.

If you’re thinking about making the switch to RV travel for your next family adventure, I’d love to help. I’ve got options for every budget, from starter travel trailers to luxury motorhomes. And I’ll make sure you get the right fit — no pressure, just real guidance.

  • 7 Questions to Ask Before Buying Your First RV

7 Questions to Ask Before Buying Your First RV

Don’t Regret Your First Trip—Buy With Confidence

    Written by Jimmy Gerhold

If you’re thinking about buying your first RV—first off, congrats. That means you’re either dreaming of adventure, craving quality family time, or just tired of hotels and fast food on the road. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad it did.

Buying an RV is one of the best decisions you can make if you want freedom, flexibility, and memories that last. But let me tell you—there’s a right way to do it. I’ve seen folks walk into the dealership excited, and I’ve seen a few leave confused or overwhelmed because they didn’t ask the right questions.

So I put together this list to help first-time RV buyers feel more confident, more informed, and more excited (without making expensive mistakes).

Here are 7 questions you should be asking before buying your first RV:

    1. What Are My Goals for RV Travel?

This seems obvious, but it’s the most overlooked question.
Are you planning weekend getaways close to home?
Or are you going full-time and living on the road?

Your answer will completely shape what kind of RV is best for you. If you’re traveling with kids, dogs, or in-laws, that’s another big factor. I always ask my clients:

“What does your perfect trip look like?”
Start there. The rest gets easier.

    2. What’s My Budget—And What’s Comfortable Monthly?

Let’s be real. We all want the biggest, baddest rig on the lot. But it’s got to make sense for your lifestyle and your finances.

I’ll walk you through your options without pressure. Sometimes a brand-new bunkhouse with warranty makes more sense than a fixer-upper with hidden issues. Other times, we can find a like-new model for a lot less money than you’d expect.

Bonus tip: Don’t forget about insurance, campground fees, and storage. They’re part of the big picture.

    3. Do I Need to Finance—And What Will That Look Like?

Financing an RV is a little different than financing a car. Longer terms, flexible structures, and yes—rates vary depending on credit, down payment, and the type of RV.

When you work with me, I’ll break it down simply. I’m here to help you get a payment you’re comfortable with, not one that gives you anxiety every month.

    4. Can My Vehicle Tow It Safely?

This one’s huge, especially for travel trailers and fifth wheels. Just because you can pull it doesn’t mean you should.

    Let’s talk about:

    • Towing capacity
    • Payload
    • Tongue weight
    • Hitch setup

I’ll help you decode your vehicle’s limits and pair you with an RV that fits like a glove. I’d rather lose a sale than watch you struggle getting up a hill or panic in crosswinds.

    5. What Layout Will Actually Work for Me?

It’s easy to fall for looks online—but in real life, it’s about function.

    Ask yourself:

    • Do I need bunks for the kids?
    • Is the bathroom big enough to use comfortably?
    • Can I access the fridge or bed with the slide closed?
    • How’s the storage?

We’ll walk through real units together and I’ll show you what families actually use and what they wish they’d bought instead.

    6. What Does Insurance Look Like for My RV?

RV insurance can be super affordable—or a surprise—depending on the type of RV and how you plan to use it.

If it’s motorized, you’ll need liability like a car. If you’re full-timing, you’ll want extra coverage. If you’re just using it for weekends and vacations, you may qualify for lower rates.

I’ve got insurance partners I trust, and I’m happy to connect you.

    7. Where Can I Camp With This RV?

This is the fun part—but also something most people don’t consider until it’s too late.
Not all campgrounds are created equal.

Some places can’t fit a 40-foot rig. Some don’t have full hookups. Some are booked 6 months in advance.

Ask yourself: “Where do I want to go, and will this RV get me there?”
We’ll look at that when you’re narrowing down your options. I’ll even show you tools and apps to make campground planning a breeze.

    Final Thoughts from Jimmy:

I’ve been doing this a long time—and I do it differently than most. My job isn’t to sell you an RV.
It’s to guide you to the right one, based on what matters to you and your family.

  • Why Buying an RV Right Now Might Be the Smartest Move You Make All Year

Why Buying an RV Right Now Might Be the Smartest Move You Make All Year

    Written by Jimmy Gerhold

If you’ve been on the fence about buying an RV, I want to talk to you straight for a minute—because I get it. You’re probably wondering, “Is now really the right time?” With all the noise out there, it’s hard to know what to believe. But here’s the truth: right now may actually be the best time you’ll see in a long time to make your move. Let me break down why.

    1. RV Prices Are Soft – That’s Rare

The market’s cooled off a little, and that’s good for you. For the last few years, prices were sky high, inventory was tight, and good luck finding a quality unit without overpaying. But right now? Prices have stabilized, and many of the best RVs—including top-name brands—are being discounted to move.

I’ve got units on my lot right now that are priced thousands below what they would’ve sold for just a year or two ago. And they’re ready to roll—clean, prepped, and family-tested.

    2. Interest Rates Won’t Stay High Forever

People are holding back because of interest rates, and I totally get it. But here’s the thing—when rates drop (and they will), demand is going to spike. When that happens, prices are going back up. The smart move? Lock in a great price now, refinance later when the rates come down.

We’re even helping folks get pre-approved with flexible lenders who understand RV buyers. It’s not one-size-fits-all—we match the right loan to your real-life situation.

    3. More Inventory = More Choices

Because the market is softer, you actually get to choose. Want bunk beds for the kids? No problem. Need a toy hauler for your motorcycle or golf cart? Got it. Looking for something your spouse will love just as much as you do? Let’s find it.

No pressure, no games—just real help from someone who wants to see your family happy and out making memories.

    4. This Is a Lifestyle, Not Just a Purchase

Listen, I don’t just sell RVs—I live this life. My family and I know what it means to hit the road, pull into a campground, and feel like the world just got a little bigger. You can’t put a price on the kind of freedom RV travel brings. And I want that for you too.

Whether you’re buying your first rig or upgrading to your dream unit, I’ll walk with you through the whole process—personally. From choosing the right floorplan to loading up your first trip, I’ve got your back.

    Let’s Talk

  • Why Now Is the Best Time to Buy an RV (Even If You’re Just Thinking About It)

Why Now Is the Best Time to Buy an RV (Even If You’re Just Thinking About It)

If you’ve been on the fence about buying an RV, let me talk to you like a friend who’s been in the industry a while—because I am. I’m Jimmy, and I help families, adventurers, retirees, and weekend warriors find the right RV for their lifestyle, budget, and dreams. And right now? I truly believe there’s never been a better time to make your move.

🚐 The RV Market Is Soft… And That’s a Good Thing for Buyers
What does a “soft market” mean? It means inventory is available, pricing is aggressive, and manufacturers and dealerships are offering deals we haven’t seen in a long time. While some folks are sitting back, unsure about interest rates or the economy, savvy buyers are stepping in and locking down real value.

“You make money when you buy—not when you sell.”
That old saying rings true here. The RV you buy today could cost thousands more a year from now when the market rebounds and supply tightens up.

🏕️ RVing Is Still the Ultimate Family Investment
Let me be real with you—my RV buyers aren’t just buying a vehicle. They’re buying memories. I’m a dad of four myself, and I’ve seen firsthand how camping brings us together in a way that busy day-to-day life just doesn’t. No screens. No schedules. Just fire pits, fishing poles, board games, and belly laughs.

Whether you’re a first-time buyer or upgrading for more space (especially if you’ve got growing kids), there’s an RV out there that can fit your needs and give your family more of those irreplaceable moments.

💰 Financing Options Are Smarter Than Ever
Yes, interest rates have been a little higher. But I work with banks and lenders every day that are still offering creative financing. Longer terms, seasonal deferrals, zero-down options for qualified buyers—you’ve got more leverage than you think.

And if you’re trading in a camper or vehicle, I can show you how to maximize its value so you’re not leaving money on the table.

🔧 Every RV I Sell Comes With Personal Support
This part matters: when you buy from me at Riverside Camping Center, you’re not just another deal. I personally walk my buyers through every RV—features, setups, hookups, towing, maintenance, all of it. I’m here before, during, and after the sale. No question is too small. I’ll even help you set up your first campsite if you’re local.

🛑 Don’t Wait for the “Perfect Time”
The perfect time is when the right RV meets the right deal—and you feel good pulling the trigger. That could be today. If you’re even thinking about it, let’s have a conversation. Zero pressure. I’ll show you what’s available, answer your questions, and help you make a decision that makes sense for your lifestyle and budget.

You’ll walk away informed, confident, and maybe even excited about the adventures ahead.
